I'm finally back from a long hiatus, during which I finished writing and knitting my first book, Dressed in Knits (available Fall 2015). Writing a book is exciting and full of hope and love and inspiration, but it's also a bit like a solid year of never-ending college finals; I was happy to send it off to Interweave and get it out of my hands and into theirs. I can't wait to see what they do with it.
It's been difficult not being able to share the wonderful designs I've been working on and I can't believe I have to wait nearly an entire year before I am able to. In the meantime, I have some self-published designs in the works, and breaking from the tradition of secrecy, starting in the new year, I'm going to blog about the design process of a collection I'm working on with Knit Picks, so stay tuned.
In addition to completing my book, I've been working hard during my hiatus to make the Worldknits web experience more pleasurable and simplistic. All aspects of the Worldknits experience- from scheduling private lessons and shopping for patterns and knitting accessories, to blogging and video tutorials- are now housed under one roof (no more links to outside pages like Blogger or Etsy). I've also simplified your shopping experience with a new shopping cart feature and am offering free shipping on orders of $99 or more using the promo code FREESHIP99. Lastly, I'm thrilled with my math-wiz husband for creating handy knitting increase and decrease calculators that give you a pattern for increasing and decreasing evenly across a row of knitting (something you have to do in a lot of my patterns). I encourage you to explore the new Worldknits website and welcome any feedback.
